29 - Friday night in Times Square
Friday night I went to 42nd Street to see Manhattanhenge. It was not so great due to low lying clouds and hordes of people waiting (at the overpasses they were completely blocking the sidewalk into the street). However, I found the golden hour light to be pretty and snapped some city shots while walking around. This photo is not my prettiest or technically perfect but I found this bicycle gang to be humorous and fun.
28 - Painting spots on cows
Painting is one of my favorite things to do with my littles. They love it and get very focused and quiet - even if only for a few moments.
27 - One World Observatory #seeforever
We were lucky and got to preview the One World Observatory on Wednesday before it opened. A storm rolled in right at our entrance time - not going to lie, I was bummed about that. But still - so cool to be up there. The building is gorgeous as are the views of this amazing city. The kids went with us and J sat with his faced pressed against the glass exclaiming "This is MY city!!!" and E ran around in the window. They are clearly not afraid of heights at this point.

25 - Coney Island for Memorial Day
We went back and forth on whether to go to Coney Island on Memorial Day. We had already had a full weekend but in the end the lure of the beach was strong. So we packed a bag of sand toys and a bag with beach towels and jumped on the train. The kids loved it. It was a wonderful kick off to the summer.

24 - On Governors Island
We had an absolutely wonderful day on Governors Island. The weather was great, lots of space for the kids to run freely, we were able to catch an open hammock in hammock grove, and nice views of downtown Manhattan. Everyone was content.

21 - Stroller Chats
We have been covering a lot of ground with the stroller. I think that on a daily basis we cover more ground with the stroller in Brooklyn than we did in Manhattan. Just my opinion but stuff is spread out a lot more in Brooklyn so I need my kids in the stroller to get to even simple, neighborhood destinations. Also, my son is quite the chatter box right now. The entire time we are walking he is asking me what something is with a vague point off into the horizon. Stroller chats are part of our day.

18 - Quiet evening in Dumbo
An overcast and cool day make for a quiet evening in the Pearl Street Triangle. I possibly could have let my littles run amok without disturbing anyone but we needed to move on to fulfill a request for gummy bears.

14 - Lingering Tulips
Ever since that nature hunt a week ago my son has been asking to go "look for nature stuff" and we have been watching the tulips linger.

10 - Under the cherry tree
After running the Japan Day race in Central Park, I spotted this gorgeous cherry tree. Both of my kids kept saying "so pretty!" as we explored the carpet of blossoms under the lovely tree and climbed the rocks next to it.
9 - Blossoms post party
So I dragged my family to a plaza where I had spotted a tree surrounded by a carpet of blossoms earlier in the morning. As I went to start making photographs I discovered I had left my card at the computer and didn't have my back ups with me. Oops.

8 - Early morning coffee run and the Manhattan Bridge
We were completely out of coffee this morning so I loaded up my kids and we headed out. They waited patiently for me to get my coffee and take a few photos before we played for hours in the Brooklyn Bridge Park.
7 - Spring mid-day walk under the trees
Everyday I take my kids out to do errands after lunch, meaning I take them for a walk till they fall asleep. It usually only takes 10-15 minutes until both are fast asleep but the only way they slow down enough to sleep is with that mid-day walk. I get to enjoy the transition towards summer during these little walks.

6 - Pink tulips & a nature scavenger hunt
I took my kids out to do a nature scavenger hunt for our spring themed month - flowers were found. This photo makes it look like an endless field of tulips but in fact it was a small little planter in an urban square. You can find nature everywhere, even in the middle of gritty, major cities.

2 - Brooklyn Botanic Gardens
We finally made it to the Brooklyn Botanic Gardens while the cherry esplanade is blooming. It was a mob scene. Lovely. But so crazy busy.

1 - Cherry blossoms are here
Here we go, another 365 photography project!
For quite some time I have been pondering what to do for a new personal photography project. I love doing personal projects. They are great for growth and exercising both the art and science aspects. I was hesitant to take on a 365 project as they are time intensive. But I kept coming back to it. So here I am.
I don't promise post the photos on time but I will take them daily. I will sometimes have a few words and sometimes just let the photo stand alone.
The cherry blossoms are blooming and they make me smile so what better subject for photo number one. No better time than now to kick off an adventure. Cheers!
